    Our story

Safety first, in everything we do

Australian Pool and Spa Barrier Inspections is all about safety first. A compliant barrier keeps young children away from the water, and that purpose sits behind every inspection.

We are a family-owned and operated business, and we run it the way we would want to be treated as customers. That means turning up at the agreed time and explaining things in plain language.

Our commitment to safety drives us to provide comprehensive inspections that assist with compliance while giving you peace of mind. Our Registered Building Inspectors are certified and experienced in making sure pool and spa barriers meet legal standards, and we bring building and pool construction experience to every job.

We value our customers and care about their needs. Whether you are facing your first four-yearly inspection, checking a property before you buy or managing several rentals, you get the same care, the same attention to detail and the same inspector every time.

    01 · Meet Cameron

One inspector, from first call to final certificate

When you call Australian Pool and Spa Barrier Inspections, you speak with Cameron, the inspector who will attend your property. There is no call centre and no handing you between staff members. The person who answers your questions is the person who measures your barrier and issues your certificate.

Before the visit, Cameron calls to confirm the details and answer your questions. Afterwards, he is still a phone call away whenever you need help with fixes, your council letter or changes to your yard.

    • One point of contact from your first call to your final certificate
    • A call ahead of every visit
    • Arrival at the agreed time
    • Ongoing support and advice long after your inspection is done

That direct line to the inspector is something our customers mention again and again, and it is a big part of why they recommend us to friends and neighbours.

    02 · Credentials

    Qualified, registered and covered

Victorian law requires pool and spa barrier inspections to be carried out by a registered building surveyor, registered building inspector, registered pool inspector or municipal building surveyor. Only these practitioners can issue the certificate your council needs.

Our inspectors are Registered Building Inspectors licensed by the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC), formerly known as the Victorian Building Authority. We are fully insured for public liability and professional indemnity, so you can book your inspection with complete confidence that you are in safe, qualified hands.

    • BPC licensed
    • Qualified and experienced Registered Building Inspectors
    • Public liability insurance for every job
    • Professional indemnity insurance for peace of mind

Behind every inspection is hands-on building and pool construction experience, so our advice is grounded in how barriers are actually built, repaired and maintained.

    03 · Our approach

More than a pass or fail

Some inspectors simply tell you whether your barrier passes or fails. We think owners deserve more than that. If your barrier doesn’t comply, we explain each issue, why it matters under the applicable standard and the most cost-effective way to fix it.

Our building and pool construction experience means our advice is practical. We know how gates are hung, how fences are built and what your trades will need to know to quote accurately and get the job done right the first time.

That way you can brief your trades with confidence and avoid paying for work you don’t need. We also offer consultations for pool barriers, so you can get expert advice before you build, renovate, landscape near the pool or book your formal four-yearly compliance inspection. It is all part of how we help owners achieve compliance.

Customers regularly tell us that this practical help is what sets us apart, along with our punctuality, our clear explanations and the fast turnaround on certificates once a barrier passes.

Cost-effective solutions and honest advice are always our aim, whatever the size of the job and whoever the customer is.

    04 · Where we work

Close to home in the north-east

We are based in Diamond Creek in Melbourne’s north-east, and we inspect pools and spas right across Melbourne and throughout Victoria. Wherever your property is, you get the same careful, methodical inspection.

Being local to the north-east means quick travel to suburbs such as Eltham, Greensborough, Montmorency, Research and Hurstbridge. Bookings are often available the next day, including Saturdays, and certificates are often issued on the same day when the barrier complies.

Our pricing is competitive, and most prices are matched or beaten. We offer discounts for eligible customers and for owners or managers booking several properties close together.

That means 10% off for emergency services and healthcare workers, and 15% off group bookings of three or more properties within 5km of each other.

Wherever you are in Victoria, just call 0422 966 028 to check availability and talk directly with the inspector.
